Cross locks (also known as cross locks) are door locks commonly used in old-style tenement buildings, private building gates, metal gates and many offices in Hong Kong. The cross section of the lock cylinder is cross-shaped, with four rows of beads corresponding to the grooves on the four sides of the key. Although digital locks have become popular in recent years, cross locks are still widely used because of their simplicity and simplicity of installation. The most common question is"The key cannot be inserted" or "It is stuck halfway", many neighbors will be trapped outside because of this.
Many cross keys have a tinymark (dimple, arrow, color dot or engraved line), this mark means "up" or "toward the specified direction". Before inserting, the mark must be aligned with the reference point on the lock cylinder housing (usually the scale or dot on the lock cylinder), so that it can be inserted and pulled out smoothly. If the mark is misaligned, forced insertion will accelerate wear and tear, or even cause instant jamming.

Based on the many years of experience of 101 Locksmithing masters, the following are the most common fault phenomena. Check the table below to compare the situation you encounter:
| Fault phenomenon | Main reason |
|---|---|
| The key cannot be inserted at all | There is foreign matter in the keyhole |
| The key cannot be inserted, only 1-2mm | The position of the cross lock key barrel is incorrect |
| The key got stuck halfway when it was inserted. | The position of the cross lock key barrel is incorrect |
| The key can be fully inserted but cannot be twisted | There is a problem with the lock body/structure |
| The key is so tight after insertion that it is difficult to pull it out. | There is a problem with the key slope |
| The key is inserted as far as it will go but it cannot rotate smoothly or even breaks. | There is a deviation in the coordination between the lock cylinder and the lock body (the lock cylinder screw is loose) or a foreign object is stuck |
| I have been using the cross lock for many years, and it is always difficult to insert it smoothly. | Long-term wear and tear, the marble or key wears to the critical point |
