Clean the floor locks regularly
Prevent sand, broken hair, and dust from getting stuck|The main reason why the key cannot be opened

Common causes of jamming

The lock of the floor lock has been exposed to the sky for a long time, and it is easy to accumulate dust, fine sand, hair, pet hair and other debris. When these foreign objects enter the underground lock, they will block the normal switch of the ground lock, causing the door latch to not be fully inserted, difficult to rotate, or even completely stuck.

High risk location

  • Near the door mat and shoe cabinet (sandy)
  • Family with pets (hair drifts into the keyhole)
  • Near the road or construction site (large amount of sand and dust)
  • Pushing foreign objects into the lock when cleaning
  • Open air/outdoor public areas

Cleaning tool preparation

  • Broom – Sweep away dust from the ground
  • Vacuum cleaner – Absorb foreign objects in the lock
  • One-word batch/capillary brush – Pick out the obvious hair/sand and foreign objects in the lock
  • Key – Final test of smoothness

Recommended cleaning frequency

  • Near the road/site: Once a month or more frequently
  • Family with pets: Once every 2 months
  • The key begins to feel "tight" or "stuck": Instant cleaning

Four steps to clean floor locks correctly

  1. Step 1: Sweep away surface dust – Use a broom to sweep away dust on the ground to prevent dust from further entering the underground lock.
  2. Step 2: Pick out obvious foreign objects – Gently pick out hair, lint, and sand that are visible to the naked eye with a flat blade.
  3. Step 3: Vacuum cleaner – Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up foreign objects in the lock until it is clean.
  4. Step 4: Insert the key and turn it back and forth – Insert the key to test, and then gently turn left and right to lock and unlock to ensure that the lock body is normal.
